Mickey Beutick-Warren


started playing the piano (and recorder) at the age of five. Always fascinated by the magical sound of the flute, she bought her first flute when she was in her thirties, receiving private instruction for several years. Currently, Mickey is a student of Peggy Schecter.

After moving from  the Netherlands to the USA in 1995, Mickey played flute, piccolo and pennywhistle with various groups in California and Oregon: the Kern Valley Community Orchestra, the Tehachapi Symphony, the Beaverton Symphony, the St.Matthew Lutheran Festival Orchestra, the First Presbyterian Church of Portland Orchestra and the Rose City Flute Choir. After her recent move to Maui, she joined the Maui Community Band and the Maui Flute Choir.

Mickey is of British/Dutch origin. She holds a PH.D. Degree in Linguistic Sciences as well as a Master’s Degree in Education. She is a professional translator (fluent in several languages), a free-lance graphic designer and watercolor artist.
