is an 8th grader at Iao Intermediate School. She has been playing flute since 7th grade and studies with Peggy Schecter. She is currently a section leader and the president of the Iao School Symphonic Band. This is her first year playing with the Maui Flute Choir. Anica plays flute, violin, and piano. In her 7th grade year, she was chosen to play with the Maui District Intermediate Select Band, and plays violin as co-concertmaster with the Maui Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. When she is not in band or orchestra Anica likes to write stories and to arrange music. She also enjoys competitive math and doing research at the Institute for Astronomy.
